Aus Texas kommt nicht nur Country Music, sondern auch feuriger Modern Jazz! Tenorsaxofonist Walter Smith III, der schon mit Roy Haynes, Bilal, Destiny’s Child, Herbie Hancock und Wayne Shorter spielte, versteht sein zweites Blue-Note-Album als Hommage an seine Heimatstadt Houston. Der ironische Albumtitel spielt darauf an, dass auch Pianist Jason Moran und Schlagzeuger Eric Harland Houston-stämmig sind, Bassist Reuben Rogers von den Jungferninseln rundet das Quartett ab, das mit zehn Smith-Originalen und einer fantastischen Interpretation von Sam Rivers‘ „Point Of Many Returns“ glänzt.
